Cheap Fun (sort of)

How much fun can you possibly have with a cardboard box???

As M and C found multiple uses for the cardboard box, K was hard at work... four grueling hours worth... putting together the basketball goal that was originally inside that box. I'm not sure K had quite as much fun as M and C did on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. However, being named "PIG Champion of the Neighborhood" shortly after the project was completed quickly lifted his spirits.

Flat Stanley Visits Georgia

Flat Stanley made his way to Georgia to spend a couple of weeks with us. (Thanks, Babes!) In case you have not met Flat Stanley, he is a character from a very popular children's book who becomes flattened by his bulletin board and then exeriences life in his flattened state and is mailed to friends in an envelope! After reading the book, children in elementary classrooms ship their own Flat Stanleys to various friends' and family members' homes so that Flat Stanley can experience life in other locations.

So.... here are some of Flat Stanley's adventures during his visit with us...

The "friendly" ghost who now resides on our front porch mistook Flat Stanley for the Boogie Man (that's why he's there, after all) and captured him! Luckily, M was there to save him. Whew!
Help! Flat Stanley has fallen into a pumpkin patch, and he can't get up! (We were asked to dress Flat Stanley in attire appropriate for our area. We felt UGA attire was most appropriate.)
Ugh! The pumpkin Flat Stanley chose was enormous!
I think Flat Stanley loved the bunnies as much as M did!
Our park system was just recently named #1 in the nation! Flat Stanley was impressed!
Flat Stanley was shipped back to Illinois today. We'll miss you, Stanley!

Fall Visit from Mo and Big T

I've been rather lazy about posting blog entries these days. Mo and Big T came to visit us over the last weekend of September. We spent a lot of time at the ball park and just simply hanging out. Unfortunately, these are the only two pictures I have from the weekend. Somehow, when my technologically challenged husband decided to take over the picture taking, all of the pictures were erased from my camera.

If you're wondering who/what the big furry black thing is, it is Mo and Big T's labradoodle, Homer. (He was named after the St. Louis Cardinal's catcher Jadier (pronounced Yahdeeair) Molina) So how'd they get Homer out of Jadier Molina? The St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series a few years ago because of "Jadi's" home run (homer). Mo and Big T happened to have purchased the dog in Tennessee on their way down to visit us that weekend, so he had no name yet when they arrived. After watching the game that weekend, being the avid Cards fans that they are, Mo and Big T decided to formally name him Jadi's Homer.

We had a picnic at the park one afternoon. Please take notice that Kevin is in the picture. That's because I am taking the picture. If he had taken the picture it would have been erased with all the other great shots from the park.
